The Wagner commander claimed that there were plans to liquidate him and his group in Ukraine, either before or after the end of the war, according to a report published by the American Institute for the Study of War.

In this context, the Wagner commander claimed that Patrushev warned President Putin of the dangers of the Wagner Group forming a larger force that would enable it to occupy lands on the borders of Ukraine and perhaps even advance inside Russia, he said.
His words came in response to a journalist’s question published by Prigozhin’s media service on Thursday.

Prigozhin revealed that the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, had suggested to Putin to end and destroy Wagner, for fear of its leader’s attempt to unify and arm the fighters, and then send them to Russia’s territory to seize power in the regions bordering Ukraine with the possibility of advancing inside.
And he concluded that orders had already been issued by Patrushev to monitor the fighters of the most important group and control its movements, amid approval from Putin.
